Have you ever wanted to try a triathlon, but thought it was all too intimidating?
The ITU Women’s Committee has developed the perfect entry point, just for you.
“We wanted to create an event that is attractive to female friends and family members of the those involved in the Grand Final, as well as locals and tourists,” said Women’s Committee Chair Tomoko Wada. “In this way we can open the door for newcomers to multi-sports in the most welcoming and non-competitive environment possible.”
Women and girls from across the world are invited to participate in the Open Novice Women’s Gold Coast Aquathlon, being held in conjunction with the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final on Wednesday 12 September. If you’re on the Coast watching family compete in the Grand Final, or you’re a local looking for a chance to get involved, now is your chance.
Enter the Aquathlon (300m swim / 2.5km run) which is open to all the women (mothers, daughters, sisters, girlfriends and wives) aged 14 or older.
If this is your first event, join the Novice Women’s Clinic before the race as well!
