Favourite meal to have the night before a race when you were an athlete? Chicken and rice salad
Favourite treat meal after a race? ICE CREAM – every time and still to this day it is a must have.
How did you get into triathlon? I was selected at school after doing well in QLD Cycling team and already had good results in all school sports swimming and running.
What have you been doing since you finished competing? I did mountain biking for a while to get off the roads after having babies but found I needed a big shake up of my training and added weight and speed HITT routines.
What is your favourite – swim/bike/run? Ohhhh that’s a hard one.. I love swim! but I also enjoy bike … hmmm but the run. Can I say all?
What is one tip you wish you were given when you started triathlon? It’s not just about the swim bike run – the whole body training is imperative – add speed circuit session and often. Oh and your food must be on point before and after training.
Favourite quote? If it was easy everyone would do it! But you don’t ever take it easy do you?
What is your favourite tri memory? Half Ironman – Forster Tuncurry – Being in the race of my career; out of the water first, the bike seemed easy and breaking my wheel down hill – I know this was not a great end to the day walking and my race ending but the race taught me more about myself then any other win. Losing is sometimes the greatest personal victory.
What is your favourite tri event destination? Noosa! Of course.

How did you get into triathlon? My friend ask me to go to a T-Rex training session with him one afternoon and I was hooked immediately.
What is your favourite – swim/bike/run? Run.
What is one tip you wish you were given when you started triathlon?To make sure you look over the maps and to know the course.
What is your favourite tri memory? My very first Runaway Bay Super Sprint Weekend.
What is your favourite event destination? Adelaide.

Favourite meal to have the night before a race when you were an athlete? Chinese – Special Fried Rice
Favourite cheat meal after a race? Apple Turnover with cream
How did you get into triathlon? My PE Teacher Mark Holstein from High School. I was heavily involved in Surf Life Saving at that time.
How did you switch to coaching? By accident. I was working at a resort post Triathlon and my good mate at the bike shop told me to get todays paper. They advertised for a Triathlon Coach at a Sunshine Coast School. I applied, the school decided to continue without a Coach. The President of the School Tri Club asked if I was interested in coaching his daughter. The rest is history.
What is your favourite – swim/bike/run? Hard one! To Coach – Swimming. It seems to be the one leg most people struggle with so from a coaching point of view. You can make a lot of changes and progression with the swim. To Participate – the Cycle. You can see so many amazing places just by heading out and riding opposed to the other legs. Going downhill. Gets the adrenalin rush going
What is one tip you wish you were given when you started triathlon? Core Strength – It is so important for the stabilisation and strength for all athletes. For longevity and body management. The things we know now, I wish I knew when I was a junior athlete coming through.
Favourite quote? Enjoy the journey.
What is your favourite tri memory? Being named in the Australia Junior Squad for the 1995 World Championships. Nothing like racing for your country.
What is your favourite tri event destination? For History and what the sport is about – Noosa Triathlon. For the destination and toughness of the course – Devonport.
